Silk screen printing, also known as screen printing, refers to using a silk screen as the plate base and through the method of photosensitive plate-making. Based on the basic principle that the mesh of the graphic part of the silk screen printing plate can allow ink to pass through while the mesh of the non-graphic part cannot, printing is carried out to produce a silk screen printing plate with graphics and text.
The basic principle of printing is to use the mesh holes in the graphic and textual parts of the screen printing plate to allow ink to pass through, while the mesh holes in the non graphic and textual parts do not allow ink to pass through. During printing, ink is poured onto one end of the screen printing plate, and a scraper is used to apply a certain pressure to the ink area on the screen printing plate while moving towards the other end of the screen printing plate. The ink is squeezed onto the substrate from the mesh of the graphic and textual parts by the scraper during movement.
Silk screen printing consists of five major elements: the silk screen printing plate, the squeegee blade, the ink, the printing table, and the substrate.
Stretching the Screen - Degreasing - Drying - Peeling off the Base Film - Exposure - Development - Drying - Plate Revision - Sealing the Screen
